It is impossible to lose Salvation | ||||||
|
||||||
There are some people who say that you can lose your Salvation if you are not diligent to protect it. These people believe that Satan (Lucifer) will steal your Salvation if you are not careful.
This author remembering hearing this analogy from R B Thieme perhaps 15 to 20 years ago on a radio program while driving to work. Below is a paraphrasing of his analogy from memory the best that I can recall. Consider these three points regarding Satan stealing your Salvation, which are very humorous:
These three points are ludicrous as Satan cannot steal our eternal security!
As we know from the scriptures, we do not get Salvation by any actions of our own. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior:
1 Samuel 16:1 | The LORD's spirit left Saul, and an evil spirit sent by the LORD tormented him. |
Judges 16:19 | 19 And she made him (Sampson) sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. |
Judges 16:28 | And Samson called unto Jehovah, and said, O Lord Jehovah, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. |
Psalms 51:11 | Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. |
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 | 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, 22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. |
If you have any fear that you have lost your Salvation then consider the well-known principles:
1 Corinthian 1:18 | For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
If you haven't asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior, do so now by asking Him in prayer.
Note that there is also the principles of the Age of Accountability for understanding how God handles Salvation for children and many others, so that no glory can be obtained by Lucifer and Lucifer's emissaries.
As read in the
we know that God exists outside of time and God exists outside of God's created universes (plural intended). Furthermore, God is not restricted or constrained by time, as God exists outside of all time domains where God's knows the future in all Time Domains.
Theoretical sciences such as Quantum Physics, and many others, are theorizing that we all live in at least 10 dimensions. There are higher dimensions where theoretical possibilities are proposing that it is possible to see all points of time in a lower dimension.
From our Faith in God, we know that God exists outside of all of His Creations (all Creations have time domains) where science has started to recognize and grasp partial understanding of the indescribable facets of God's Creation. Scientist are theorizing that in the Sixth Dimension that Time Travel is possible along with higher Dimensions having the ability for the observer to see all points in time in a simultaneous procession.
We as Christians know that God, in the purpose of all history, is proving His Great Love that will be experienced in ages of eternity future.
The five Scriptures that have confused some Christians are:
(A) Hebrews 6:4-8 |
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. |
(B) Matthew 12:31-32 |
Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. |
(C) Deuteronomy 29:18-21 |
18 lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; 19 and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry. 20 Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven. 21 And Jehovah will set him apart unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law. |
(D) Revelation 3:4-5 |
4 But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. |
(E) Exodus 32:30-34 |
30 The next day Moses told the people, You committed a great sin, and now I ll go up to the Lord, and perhaps I can make atonement for your sin. 31 Moses returned to the Lord and said, Please, Lord, this people committed a great sin by making a god of gold for themselves. 32 Now, if you will, forgive their sin but if not, blot me out of your book which you have written. 33 The Lord told Moses, Whoever sins against me, I ll blot him out of my book. 34 Now, go, and lead the people where I told you, and now my angel will go before you, but on the day when I do punish, I ll punish them for their sin. 35 Then the Lord sent a plague on the people because they made the calf (the one Aaron made). |
Case 1. In the Books of Exodus and Numbers, the scriptures are concerning the nation of Israel at the time when they were coming out of captivity in Egypt. The generation who left the captivity failed to enter the Promise Land because of lack of Faith and condemning the character of God. During the exodus from Egypt, Israel witnessed amazing miracles on a daily basis, and collectively as a group murmured and spoke despairingly against God. When God led them to the border area of the Promise Land, there were ten men called spies sent into the promise land, where eight of the ten came back with an evil report that negatively liable God which reflected lack of Faith, Trust and Reliance that God would be with them to conquer it. The people listening then wanted to kill, by stoning, two of the spies who said the land can be taken with God. This so angered God, because of all the repeated murmuring against God throughout the exodus from Egypt and then this event, that God swore an oath that they would not inherit/enter the Promise Land, with the exception of two of the spies that said they could conquer the land with God, Joshua and Caleb and the descendants under the age of accountability. Some Biblical Scholars estimate there were a million people in the Exodus from Egypt. Of this group, all that were older than the age of accountability, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb, were not allowed to enter the Promise Land. Note that even Moses was not permitted to enter the Promised Land because of disobeying what God told him to do with staff and rock in Numbers 20:11, but Moses' salvation was as well as most of the exodus generation was not in question. Proof on Moses inheriting Salvation is evidenced by the New Testament's Mount of Transfiguration appearance in Matthew 17:3. While Israel did not get the rewards of the Promise Land, they were not sent back to captivity in Egypt, along with not being abandoned by God. So, the Exodus generation were still saved from Egypt, followed God during their wonderings of the 38.1 years, described as 40 years. The question is if Israel as a nation and people, lose their ability to enter into Eternity in Heaven? Everyone is accountable singularly to God, where the actions of the nation did not cause an individual to lose Salvation. Notice the evidence that God:
Case 2: Consider the scriptural case where Esau sold his birth right for one morsel of meat, thus showing he had no regard for it, which rejects the knowledge of blessing given to the first born. Esau permanently lost the blessing, which he tried to get after. We do not know from the scriptures if Esau will be in Heaven based on Hebrews 12:16-17, but taking the whole Word of God into consideration, the answer is hopefully "yes". Consider the possible evidence that the descendants of Esau, the Edomites, served Israel. Recall from the beginning of this topic that the indication would be that as long as there is a desire then the ability to accept means the desire for God.
Case 3: Consider the Scriptural case of Cain who killed Abel. Cain was forgiven but experienced consequences that followed him for the rest of his life. The mark that Cain was given suggest that it was something for Cain to believe in for his safety from anyone else killing him. This means Cain had to have Faith in God that the mark given by God would protect him. We learn that Cain's descendants had parts of the Name of God in their names, so this is further evidence that Cain wanted God in his life and did not lose his Salvation, so we should see Cain in Heaven. Cain's consequences were loss of the ground yielding its abundance, fear of being killed and having a stigma that others knew he was a murderer. This lets us know that Cain has a loss of rewards in his earthly life and most likely rewards in eternity. Case 4: Consider the Scripture of Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." The question is why would God have to wipe away tears? The answer is most likely for many reasons, but one of the possibilities that has to be considered, is all of us will be sorrowful for the things we did wrong and the loss of rewards that God had in store for us. |
Now let us examine the Scriptures A through E
The consequences for the Christian when not repenting, and especially in the case of Hebrews 6:4-8, are:
which is all part of rewards in Eternity at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
The important context of the passage was a warning to the Jewish Believers who were considering going back to Judaism to escape persecution. The writer of Hebrews is telling these Believers in Jesus Christ that there is no other sacrifice to take away sins because the old system was done away with even though temple sacrificing was still operational. (Temple was destroyed in 70AD/CE, which is one proof of many that Hebrews was from the time period after the crucifixion and before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD.)
Hebrews 6:4-8 | 4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. |
After careful examination of this scriptural passage, that once a person stops (like the car example above) in the action of denying Jesus Christ as their Savior, then they will become eligible again to experience the gifts that they were experiencing. The 3rd Commandment, of the Ten Commandments, is we are to be Ambassadors of God, and we are to act in service for our King, where we all often do not.
Note that the scriptures have been translated from the Greek, and over the multitudes of centuries, eventually into English along with hundreds of others. Some of the words lose the initial meaning and the original intent. Thoughts on the verses:
Romans 1:24-25 |
24 Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen. |
1 Corinthians 3:12-13 | 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. |
|
In the Scriptures, we are given great Hope and assurance of our Faith; but we are also given the same warning and knowledge of consequences for acting against the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 1:24-29 | 24 But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, 25 since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, 26 I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you 27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. 28 Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, 29 since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord. 30 Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, |
John 6:44 | No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. |
John 15:16 | You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit fruit that will last and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. |
1 Corinthians 1:10 | God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. |
A Potential Consequence Is there the possibility that the scripture passage is warning that mature Christians, whom have "tasted the heavenly gift", that when blaspheming the Holy Spirit by both (a) denial, and (b) returning to a debaucherous life against God, where people see the debauchery knowing that person is a Christian, will have these two consequences? (The visibility by others is the "crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace")
This author believes the scriptures give us this conclusion that these two consequences will happen. While this author has not seen these consequences written in any Biblical Commentaries, I believe this is a strong possibility. As proof:
|
When examining the context of the entire exchange of the conversation between Jesus Christ and the Pharisees, then both of these previous points are not correct.
Verse 30 and the first part of verse 31 is dealing with forgiveness of blasphemy against Him, as Jesus Christ is God; and the second part is against the Holy Spirit, who is God. Note that in different translations the word blasphemy is used and others the term "speaks a word against" is used instead of blasphemy.
Matthew 12:22-32 | 22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. 23 All the people were astonished and said, Could this be the Son of David? 24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons. 25 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. 30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. |
The context of Mathew 12:22-32, was the Pharisees verbally assaulting Jesus Christ and ignoring the scriptural prophecies which showed what Jesus Christ was doing meant Jesus Christ was the prophesized Messiah who healed the blind and sick, Isaiah 35:5-6. Additionally, they were stating Jesus Christ was doing the healing by Lucifer (Beelzebub).
Isaiah 35:5-6 Messianic |
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; 6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; |
Matthew 12:22-24 | 22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed the man so that he could speak and see. 23 The crowds were astounded and asked, Could this be the Son of David? 24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, Only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, does this man drive out demons. |
These particular Pharisees were being told by Jesus Christ that they would be forgiven for blaspheming Him but would be held accountable for blaspheming the Holy Spirit. As previously stated, the Pharisees blaspheme was because they were stating the work of Jesus Christ, which was through the Holy Spirit, was from Lucifer (Beelzebub). The question for us to consider is whether or not these Pharisees had Salvation, where the logical answer was "no" at that time. God, through the Holy Spirit, always initiates the process for all of us to recognize and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, so these Pharisees were possibly stopping the future possibility of the Holy Spirit working in their lives.
As discussed earlier in this topic, when the Israelites were leaving in the Exodus, they saw many miracles of God. Yet, the Exodus Generation experienced negative consequences for murmuring, rejecting and testing God which was blasphemy. There were the very negative consequences, for those over the Age of Accountability, where they would not inherit the Promise Land. God still gave and showed His Love by taking care of them. Rhetorically, did all of these people lose their Salvation, where the answer was "no". Rhetorically did Sampson, King David and Solomon lose their Salvation for publically blaspheming God through the debaucherous acts, where the answer was "no".
Jesus Christ did not state the consequences were loss of Salvation in Matthew 12:31. Being not forgiven of something means having consequences just like the Exodus generation that did not inherit the Promised Land. Sampson, King David and Solomon also had consequences.
|
The Apostle Paul, before becoming an Apostle, admits to being a blasphemer in 1st Timothy 1:13. In the same chapter of 1st Timothy, the Apostle Paul states the two Believers Hymenaeus and Alexander were handed over to Satan (Lucifer) to be taught not to blaspheme as they claimed the resurrection already occurred. Paul did not say the two people were losing their Salvation. The two were have consequences to correct their Faith.
1 Timothy 1:12-13 | 12 I thank him that enabled me, even Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to his service; 13 though I was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: howbeit I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief; |
1 Timothy 1:20 | of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I delivered unto Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme. |
In Hebrews 12:18, Jesus Christ while speaking to a crowd, cited Isaiah so that the crowd to understand who the Holy Spirit was and the role of the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 12:18 | Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. |
Isaiah 42:1 | Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. |
The scriptures always interpret the scriptures. There are many theories that suggest that someone can have Salvation and then lose it, but this is impossible according to scriptures like John 10:28-30, John 17:12 and 1 Corinthians 1:8.
John 10:28-30 | 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father s hand. 30 I and the Father are one. |
John 17:12 | While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. |
1 Corinthians 1:8 | who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
These three kings of Israel are part of the lineage of Jesus Christ but are omitted (blotted out) from the Gospel of Matthew's list as read in Chapter 1. Read the topic on the Tenth Man, Blotted Out and the Blood Curse of Jeconiah topic as these three kings worshipped Idols which is why their names were blotted out from the later written account from Matthew.
The key part of both of the Deuteronomy 29:20 and Revelation 3:5 sections of scriptural verses is the question of someone who
The scriptures uses many figures
of speech or rhetorical ways of speaking, such as Allegories, Analogies,
Associations, Humor, Metaphors, Puns, Threats, Warnings, ... Zeugma to name just
nine of the over
200 types of speech used in the Scriptures.
Quick side-note: There is an incorrect belief that the Lamb's Book Of Life has everyone's name written in it from the foundation of the world and over time, people's names are taken out of it. This is a held belief by a few well-respected Theologians, but this theory does not have a single scriptural reference for showing one person having their name taken out of the Lamb's Book of Life. |
In the two passages of Deuteronomy 29:20 and Revelation 3:5, there is a reference to "blot out his name from under heaven" and "blot his name out of the book of life". The two points to notice:
so, this makes the reader possibly have confusion.
Deuteronomy 29:18-21 | 18 lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; 19 and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry. |
Revelation 3:4-5 | 4 But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise (never) blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels |
Regarding the "blot out his name from Heaven" scriptural part, it is a figures of speech that is a threat to impart the seriousness of the sinful actions being done. This is similar to when God told Moses he would wipe out (kill the nation of Israel) during the Exodus as read in Exodus 32:9-14, shown below, but God never was going to wipe out Israel where it reflects the seriousness of not offending God's Character.
Some other points:
Mathew 22:14 | For many are called, but few are chosen. |
Matthew 7:13-14 | 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. |
Revelation 3:1-5 | 1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead. 2 Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. |
James 2:14 | What good is it, my brothers, if someone
says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? (Read James Chapter 2 that shows that good works will be evidence of Faith in Jesus Christ.) |
Some scriptures to remember, in addition to Romans 3:23-24 and John 10:28-30:
Romans 6:4 | Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. |
Romans 3:23-24 | 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." |
John 3:16-18 | 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him. 18 He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. |
Matthew 17:21-23 | 21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord,
will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my
Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day
many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and
cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?
23 And then will I declare to them, I
never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
(Notice that Jesus is saying that He NEVER knew the person. It doesn't say Jesus knew the person when they accepted Jesus as their Savior and now Jesus doesn't remember that event! Therefore, the person may have thought they were a Believer but they never even tried to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is also made clearer that the person worked lawlessness without trying to do anything showing the person had a relationship with Jesus. ) |
Exodus 32:9-14 | 9 The LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and behold, they are an obstinate people.
10 "Now
then let Me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make
of you a great nation." 11 Then Moses entreated the LORD his God, and said, "O LORD, why does Your anger
burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a
mighty hand? 12 "Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, 'With evil intent He brought them out to kill
them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth '? Turn from Your burning anger and
change Your mind about doing harm to Your people. 13
"Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants
to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, 'I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the
heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit
it forever.'" 14
So the LORD changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.
(Note Moses didn't change God's mind as if it was a possibility then God would have already done it or will do it. God was threatening to impart the seriousness of the situation for Moses to tell the nation of Israel. God had made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Israel where God does not break His covenants!) |

This is an excerpt from information that is also contained
in the Lamb's Book of Life topic.
Some Theologians wrongly quote scriptures such as Exodus 32:30-34, to state that God can remove names from the Book of Life. The context of the passage is dealing with a discussion between Moses and God. Moses is frightened and lovingly worried for Israel that they will lose their Salvation so Moses is asking God to take out the punishment of loss of Salvation against himself (Moses). God is responding with the comment that He will "Whoever sins against me, I'll blot him out of my book" which is God's choice and prerogative. It doesn't state God would do it to a person who has Salvation and the proof is the Exodus people that were not killed after the golden calf incident, only the evil men who rejected the true God.
It is important to look also at how God handles those who do not have Salvation in the time of the Exodus. In Numbers 16:26-33, which was also dealing with the Golden Calf incident, there were evil men under Korah, who were swallowed up by the Earth to go directly to the bad compartment of Sheol and the scriptures in Exodus and Numbers inform us that these men where never accepting of God, thus never had Salvation.
The evil group was led by Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Those who separated themselves from them, were choosing God so they lived. The group of Korah, Dathan and Abiram's with those who stayed with them (250 men), showed that they never had chosen God and rejected knowing God again, so they never were in the Lamb's Book of Life. God exists outside of our Time Domain and God knows the end from the beginning. This means that God already had everyone in the entire history of the Earth, who would have Salvation, already written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Exodus 32:33 was information for Moses to understand that God would have known if a person would have Salvation before they were born and the "sin against God" is also a sin of not accepting God, would mean their name would never be in the Lamb's Book of Life. This is what the group of evil people did. Note that there are other Books in the Scriptures:
Because of the Idolatry event, God did punish and have many died from a plague, but God did not require the lives of all the people of Israel. We can never state that just because someone was part of the Exodus Group that they chose to have Faith that Saves for God. The evil group is proof. The positive aspect is the people who remained chose God, which is just like what we do when we ask Jesus Christ to be our Savior, even though some of these people still suffered consequences. We know from the scriptures, that worshipping a false god is one of the four greatest sins that a person can commit but it does not take away a person's Salvation. There was punishment, a plague and then God still directed the people to go the Promise Land, Exodus 33:1-3, but God informed Moses that He would not be traveling with them, only an Angel. God not traveling with them, must have caused a profound remorsefulness as indicated in Exodus 33:4. Thankfully, God did travel with them later as indicated in Exodus 33:14. Note that Aaron was the designer and builder of the golden calf where we know that Aaron eventually becomes the first Chief Priest of Israel for God. If anyone would have received one of the strongest and punitive punishments, then Aaron would have been one of them to receive a severe consequence, where Aaron did not. Aaron, despite making the golden calf, in his heart still had Faith that Saves for God, as evidenced by Aaron not standing with the evil group and Aaron's future actions. |
The father in the parable obviously represents God, and most people also understand that the father in the story still loves the son no matter what the son did:
Luke 15:28-32 | 28 But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out, and entreated him. 29 But he answered and said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, and I never transgressed a commandment of thine; and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: 30 but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou killedst for him the fatted calf. 31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine. 32 But it was meet to make merry and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. |
The four major points of the parable are:
Our Rewards in heaven are earned where we can always start, along with restarting, at any point in our lives to earn rewards like the Thief on the Cross and Enoch.
Enoch, might be somewhat like the Prodigal Son. Enoch is one of this author's favorite people in the scriptures, because he started his dedication at age 65, so it is never too late.
Philippians 1:6 | being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. |
A | Hebrews 6:4-8 | The Christian risks losing the desire to repent and not having a productive life gaining rewards in Eternity. Salvation is not lost. |
B | Matthew 12:31 | Pharisees refused to recognize Jesus Christ, when the Holy Spirit was there to witness to them, and the scriptures were well known by the Pharisees. Pharisees were held accountable, as they should have known. Blasphemy is refusing the Holy Spirit guidance to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. |
C | Deuteronomy 29:20 | Blotting refers to someone without Salvation never being offered Salvation. |
D | Revelation 3:5 | Indicates no matter what sins, God will not remove anyone from Book of Life |
E | Exodus 32:30-34 | Blotting refers to someone without Salvation never being offered Salvation. |
The Christian's blessed assurance is:
Romans 3:23-24 | 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." |
John 10:28-30 | 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one." |

What is Salvation? We have eternal life. Evolution is not real. When a Christian suffers is there benefits from it. Rewards in Heaven. Do we Tithe? What does the 3rd Commandment tell us? What is Grace and Mercy? Is there an Age of Accountability? Is there a place of unending punishment and exile form God?
