In the scriptures, the Apostles and all people that are believers in Jesus Christ, always addressed Jesus Christ as Lord. Jesus Christ's enemies addressed Him differently in their conversations. Throughout this entire website on Biblical Thoughts for God's Glory, it is necessary for this author to identify Jesus Christ, meaning Jesus the Messiah, instead of Lord for differentiating God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
This author absolutely calls Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior with love for Him, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. This author's prayers conclude with "Father, I ask this in Jesus Christ's name for your Glory." and often during the day, I say "Thank your gifts and guidance. I love Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit."
Jesus Christ is exactly who He said He was and more.
Genesis 1:26 | Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. |
Hebrews 10:4-7 | 4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me; 6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: 7 Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the volume of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God. |
There are some people who incorrectly believe:
Jesus let us know who He was under oath as required by Old Testament law which requires everyone to speak the truth when swearing under the name of God. Jesus the Christ additionally gave the Sanhedrin, during an illegal mock trial Matthew 26:62-65, the confirmation of who He is with the coming in the clouds Revelation 1:7.
Matthew 3:13-17 Son of God God the Father speaks and God the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus Christ |
13 Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him. 14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying, I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me? 15 But Jesus answering said to him, Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he permitted Him. 16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased. |
Matthew 26:62-65 Son of God |
62 And the high priest stood up and said, Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you? 63 But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said to him, You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven. 65 Then the high priest tore his robes and said, He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. |
Hebrews 1:1-13 Son of God |
1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers
in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2
in these last days has spoken to us in
His Son, whom
He appointed heir of all things,
through whom also He made the
world. 3 And
He is the radiance of His glory
and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all
things by the word of His power.
When He had made purification of
sins, He sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty on high, 4
having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more
excellent name than they. 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU ? And again, I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME ? 6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM. 7 And of the angels He says, WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE. 8 But of the Son He says, YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. 9 YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS. 10 And, YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS; 11 THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT, 12 AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP; LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END. 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET ? |
Psalm 2:7 Son of God | I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee. |
Psalm 2:11-12 Son of God | 11 Serve Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that take refuge in him. |
2 Philippians 2:5-6 Fully equal to God |
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: |
John 17:21 Separate and plural "us" |
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. |
John 1:18 Begotten Son |
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. |
Colossians 2:9-10 Fullness of Godhead |
8 Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ: 9 for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, 10 and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power: |
John 1:1-3 and 1:14 In Eternity Jesus Christ was with God. All things were made through Jesus Christ |
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The
same was in the beginning with God. 3 All
things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that
hath been made. 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. |
John 8:57-58 Jesus Is Eternal. Declares He is "I Am" a title of God. |
57 The Jews therefore said unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was born, I am. |
There are at many scriptural verses that list "Holy, Holy, Holy". The rhetorical question is why "Holy" is stated three times? Biblical Scholars point the accuracy in the scriptures let us know that is a reference to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 6:3 | And one called to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory! |
Revelation 4:8 | Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. |
When Jesus the Christ was being Crucified, He was taken our place as the Lamb of God to take away the Sins of the World.
John 1:29 | 28 These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world! |
Before Jesus the Christ dies on the Cross, He speaks "My God, My God". The rhetorical question is why "My God" spoken twice? Biblical Scholars point to the accuracy of the scriptures as Jesus the Christ is God and Jesus was speaking to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. At the moments before death, Jesus Christ was separated from Triune God in order to receive the full penalties of the sins of the entire world from the past, present and future. The pain is beyond our ability to comprehend where Jesus felt the separation from the phrase "why hast thou forsaken me?".
Matthew 27:46 | And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? |
Hebrews 10:4-7 | 4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me; 6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: 7 Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the volume of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God. |
See these beautiful topics that show just a few of the amazing scriptural passages to consider that demonstrate the focus that the Scriptures have on Jesus Christ to build our faith, love and understanding of God:
Jesus the Christ will fulfill everything written of Him, Matthew 5:17-18. Even the tiniest "one jot or one tittle" (tiny marks in the scripture)" will be fulfilled of Jesus the Christ. (Note: a "jot" is the tenth letter in the Hebrew alphabet and is the smallest letter. A "tittle" is smaller than a jot and is used on a letter to differentiate two adjacent letters.)
Matthew 5:17-18 | 17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. |
The scriptural passage of Revelation 22:3-5 states the wonderful future in eternity after all things have been completed that are written in the Scriptures. There will be peace, love without end and amazing Rewards in Heaven that we have through God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit:
Revelation 22:3-5 | 3 And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him; 4 and they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. 5 And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. |
The scriptures have numerous places that state that the Messiah is the Son of God. Notes:
The following list is perhaps the most well-known scriptural references, but actually there are hundreds and hundreds of inferences, patterns, idioms and pointers through the story that speak about the Messiah Jesus the Christ.

The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. |
10 | Daniel 3:24-25 | 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he spake and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods. |
