This author has purposely taken the liberty of using the number "1,000" in the title with the word "Millennial" as a way of emphasizing the importance of 1,000 years in the special period of time in the future. It is not less or more than one thousand years, and it is a fulfillment of the Davidic covenant promised to Mary promise of Jesus Christ sitting on King David's Thrown as read in Luke 1:32 and 2 Samuel 7:12-13. See also the topic on the Royal Bloodline for the incredible lineage that required the virgin birth.
Luke 1:32 | 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end. |
2 Samuel 7:8-13 | 8 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people, over Israel; 9 and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee; and I will make thee a great name, like unto the name of the great ones that are in the earth. 10 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first, 11 and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will cause thee to rest from all thine enemies. Moreover Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house. 12 When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. |
There are some old Biblical Commentaries that have speculated that after the Millennial Kingdom of 1,000 years, then there will be as much as additional 300 years in order for "the nations from the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather together for the war," (Revelation 20:7-9). Note this final war is also the Second Armageddon Event. The 300-year theory is most likely attempts to speculate how long armies of the past would take in current time to arrive at a central location on the Earth.
Regarding the time after the Millennial Kingdom, the scriptures do not give the amount of time for the period when Lucifer will be doing the "gathering" of armies for the Second Armageddon Event. It is most likely will be very short, in this author's opinion, otherwise God would have information in the scriptures concerning it.
In the three and one half years of the Tribulation Period, when the Nations gather for the First Armageddon Event, the gathering was done quickly. The gathering of the world's armies, for the First Armageddon Event, will most likely is shorter than one year.
During the Millennial Kingdom, everyone on the planet will be travelling to Jerusalem for events to worship God at the Temple there. The Second Armageddon Event is surrounding God's City of Jerusalem, where the traveling methods were already set up during the Millennial Kingdom. |
Note that there are many places in the scriptures that have double references and predictions. This final event of Lucifer is part of a dual prophecy of Gog and Magog and also absolutely concerns two Armageddon Events with Gog and Magog involved.
Revelation 20:7-9 | 7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. |
2 Samuel 7:11-17 |
11 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: 12 When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. 15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever. 17 Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation. |
Psalms 132:11 | The Lord swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. |
Psalm 89:3-4 | 3 You said, I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, 4 I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations. [ |
Psalm 110 Melchizedek |
1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head. |
Luke 1:32-33 His kingdom |
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end. |
Revelation 20:2-3 | 2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. |
Ezekiel 37:26-27 | 26 And I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and set My sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 My dwelling place also will be among them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. |
Ezekiel 43:5-7 | 5 And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner courtyard; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house. 6 Then I heard Him speaking to me from the house, while a man was standing beside me. 7 And He said to me, Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their prostitution and by the corpses of their kings when they die, |
At the time of Abraham, God made an unconditional promise to Abraham that Abraham's descendants would inherit land and would possess it forever. Israel, during the time of the Old Testament had blessing and protection under obedience, where the new covenant of Jesus Christ gave everyone, including Israel, a new greater law.
The promise that God made to Abraham did not change and they are still in effect concerning the nation of Israel, where in the future Millennial Kingdom, Israel will be the priests of God and the world will look to and go to Jerusalem to honor, serve and worship God.
Genesis 22:16-18 | 16 and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice." |
Deuteronomy 1:7-8 (the full territory of modern-day Israel and much, much more. |
7 'Turn and set your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all their neighbors in the Arabah, in the hill country and in the lowland and in the Negev and by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. 8 'See, I have placed the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to them and their descendants after them.' |
During the Millennial Kingdom and in eternity, Jerusalem will be the capital of the world and the nations will go there.
Isaiah 60:5 | Then thou shalt see and be radiant, and thy heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee. |
Isaiah 60:12 | For that nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. |
Isaiah 60:16 | Thou shalt also suck the milk of the nations, and shalt suck the breast of kings; and thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, am thy Savior, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. |
Isaiah 61-5-6 | 5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers. 6 But ye shall be named the priests of Jehovah; men shall call you the ministers of our God: ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. |
The Temple will only be open on Saturday (Shabbat) and a new moon.
Ezekiel 46:1 | Thus saith the Lord God; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened. |
There are sometimes disagreements between Biblical Scholars on whether there will be Temple Sacrifices occurring in the 1000 Millennial Kingdom. Some Biblical Scholars, which this author agrees with, are stating the Temple Sacrifices are done as remembrance, memorials and celebrations that have nothing to do with removing of sins.
Isaiah 56:7 | these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. |
Zechariah 14:16 Zechariah 14:21 |

Then the survivors from all the nations that have
attacked Jerusalem will go up
year after year to worship the King, the
Lord
Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the Lord Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of the pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord Almighty. |
Jeremiah 33:15-18 | 15 In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. 16 In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior. 17 For this is what the Lord says: David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel, 18 nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices. |
There are two questions that are sometimes asked regarding the Animal Sacrifices:
Answers:
During the Millennial Kingdom, Jesus Christ will rule where everyone will know Him. There will be no need to be witnessed to about the Savior.
In the Book of Hebrews, which is after the Crucifixion, the writer is telling Israel that there will be a time in the future where Israel will once again be in a place of leadership. There will be a new covenant with Israel, but teaching about the Lord will not be needed because everyone will know Jesus Christ because He is the Ruler over the entire Earth.
Hebrews 8:8-13 | 8 But God found fault with the people and said: "The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. 9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. 10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." 13 By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear. |
In Ezekiel 37:24-28, the scripture lets us know that King David will have a place and role in the 1000 Millennial Kingdom. He will be a prince over the nation of Israel, under Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel 37:24 | 24 My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them. 25 They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. 28 And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever. |
Revelation 20:4 (Christians that die in the Tribulation Period) |
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw
the souls of
them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as
worshipped not
the beast, neither his image, and received not the
mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they
lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Note: The Mark is the Mark of the Beast. |
During the Millennial Kingdom, there absolutely will be people that will die. The cause of death will be from:
While death still occurs, the lifespan will be longer because.
Because our freewill still exists, with the people during the Millennial Kingdom with the sin-nature, there are no human beings with sinless bodies until after:
Jesus Christ will rule the Millennial Kingdom with a "rod of iron" as prophesized in Psalm 2 and confirmed in Revelation 2:27. The requirement for Jesus Christ ruling with the strictness of the rod of iron then indicates there is the potential for sinning occurring with consequences including premature death. Psalm 2 also has an amazing summary about t the final insurrection after the end of the Millennial Kingdom where we are privileged in learning about the discussion between all Three Members of our Triune God.
Psalm 2:8-9 All three Members of the God Head speaking to one another |
6 Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of
Zion. 7 I will tell of the decree: Jehovah
said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee.8
Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for
thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy
possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. |
Revelation 2:27 Jesus Speaking to the Church of Thyatira |
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father: |
There have been Biblical Scholars that have been stating for multiple decades that the Millennial Kingdom has many purposes, besides the prophecies fulfilling the Davidic Covenant promise of Jesus Christ sitting on King David's Thrown as read in Luke 1:32 and 2 Samuel 7:12-13, as sited at the start of this topic. One of the many other purposes is to prove that human beings will sin even under a Perfect King that is ruling the Earth unless we have the sin nature removed with perfect unity under our God.
1 Corinthians 15:24-28 | 24 Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God has put everything under His feet." Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him. 28 And when all things have been subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all. |
Often in some Biblical Commentaries the reference of Isaiah 65:20 is quoted to state that people will live for long lives in the Millennial Kingdom. We must read the verse Isaiah 65:20 in the context of the entire Isaiah chapter 65. When reading the Chapter 65 of Isaiah, the verses are clearly about the future after the Millennial Kingdom because of verse 17 indicates it is after "I will create new heavens and a new earth". We absolutely know that the New Heaven and New Earth are created before Eternity Starts and after the Great White Thrown of Judgment where the Great White Thrown of Judgment is after the Millennial Kingdom.
Nowhere in the scriptures is there a statement that people will live extraordinary long lives like the times of Adam and Eve in the Millennial Kingdom. As further proof, consider the Gap Theory and Great Flood topics, concerning Genesis 1:1-2. Notice the Earth was already there but "formless and empty" in Genesis 1:1, where God would not have created anything in that condition as the Angels originally "shouted with joy" when the Earth was created as read in Job 38:4-7. Additionally, the entire Earth was covered by water that was a dreadful and foreboding water. God moves over the Earth and recreates the surface areas. In is not until Revelation 21:1 that a new Earth along with new Heavens are created which is after the Millennial Kingdom.
Only when Eternity starts will there be the conditions of life as described in Isaiah 65. The interesting question that this author has not seen in any Biblical Commentaries is the question if human-beings will be immoral but can die from an accident in Eternity? When death occurs, does the death simply have the person change to the new body that we all aspire to have in the future as Christians as read in 2 Corinthians 5:1-10? The speculative theoretical answer is yes.
Isaiah 65:17-21 | 17 For behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for I will create Jerusalem to be a joy and its people to be a delight. 19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem and take delight in My people. The sounds of weeping and crying will no longer be heard in her. 20 No longer will a nursing infant live but a few days, or an old man fail to live out his years. For the youth will die at a hundred years, and he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed. 21 They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. |
Isaiah 65:25 | 25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but the food of the serpent will be dust. They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain,” |
2 Corinthians 5:1-10 | 5 For we know that when this earthly tent we
live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly
body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by
God himself and not by human hands. 2
We grow weary in our present
bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.
3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not
be spirits without bodies. 4 While we live
in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to
die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put
on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by
life. 5
God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. 6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. |
Revelation 21:1-4 | 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was
also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the
new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride
beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” |
There is still the requirement to accept Jesus Christ through Faith before the end of the Millennial Kingdom to be able to be in Eternity future with God in Heaven. There will be one last rebellion when Lucifer is released from chains in Lower Sheol. Lucifer will deceive many of the nations in one final attempt against Jesus Christ, which is called the final Gog and Magog event, and also called the Second Armageddon Event. All of those who are present against Jesus Christ will be killed instantaneously by fire from Heaven.
After the Second Armageddon Event caused by Lucifer, Gog and Magog is over then the Great White Thrown of Judgment will happen. At this Judgment the Fallen Angels and Demons are judged by Jesus Christ and all human beings who have Salvation, but human being without Salvation, will be judged solely by Jesus Christ.
Revelation 20:7-10 | 7 When the thousand years are completed, Lucifer will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. |
Points of the passage:
There are two primary questions asked often by Christians concerning
The answer, in a general summary by many Biblical Commentaries, is looking at the different Dispensational Periods of the Earth and how Jesus Christ has always been the answer, solution, reason, gift, and with Him that all human-beings can have life, love, peace, joy and appreciation worship of our God as read in many scriptural passages such as John 10:7-15.
During the Millennial Kingdom and after the Millennial Kingdom when Lucifer is released from prison in lower Sheol:
John 10:7-15 | 7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. 12 He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth them: 13 he fleeth because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, 15 even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. |
An excerpt from the purpose of all history: The Question How can God who is:
show Perfect Love to a world that is destined to eternal separation from God without a Savior? The answer is given to us in Ephesians 2:4-7, and is often called the purpose of God in all of history and the purpose of eternity future:
In the next verse 8, we will understand that it was by nothing we could have done to inherit and deserve the rewards of Heaven, which will lead us to a greater love of God for eternity.

After the Great White Thrown of Judgment is completed a marvelous new Heaven and new Earth will be created for Eternity. All of those who are condemned to the Lake of Fire never will be able to see the new Heaven and new Earth. Glory to God for not letting all those condemned to the Lake of Fire to even taint the perfection of the new Heaven by being present during the Great White Thrown of Judgment.
