Difficult Topic

This is a very difficult topic that should bring comfort to all of us who don't understand evil in the world and how God does not stop it. 

The answers may be hard for us to accept when there is loss of loved ones, deaths of innocent people and the general desire for us to hope that there are ways to stop wars.  There is mistaken belief that the good people in the world can stop wars, which is impossible without God and the elimination of evil. 

The Scriptures have shown through Israel's history that God does condone military actions and often requires it to stop evil and for punishment of past actions of nations and groups of people.

Can God be found in times of War?

Perhaps most of us have asked whether or not God is involved and can be found in times of war, where the answer is absolutely yes.  Some of us will die young and some will live long lives because of the sacrifices paid by those for our freedom with their lives or even physical impairments for life. 

We can remain confident that in the end, we will see that God's plans were perfect despite what we may perceive otherwise.  Sometimes, God will have long lives for some and others will have short lives but the parable of the Workers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-12) teaches us that God will grant all of us a place in Heaven if we accept Him through His son Jesus Christ.

Past, Present and Future

When there is war between peoples that are motivated by anything Satanic:

1. God will be in the midst of it for His purposes so that nothing Lucifer and Satanic Forces are attempting will ultimately NOT give any glory to the Satanic Forces. 
2. God will have have all of His purposes accomplished for God's Glory and for those who love God. 

These two points are hard for any of us on this side of eternity to understand, which involves seeing the end from the beginning which we are not capable of doing. 

Consider that since the beginning, mankind has constantly been involved in

• Rejecting God,
• Murder,
• Theft,
• destruction,
• Lust along with Adultery, and
• so many other negative aspects of the human condition. 

God had a plan from the beginning that involved reconciliation after the fall of Adam and Eve that required a payment for becoming justified through the death of one, God's Son Jesus Christ. 

As humans, we often fail to grasp the concept that we are just sojourners on Earth where once we were born with the sin/separation condition then we must  accept, through Faith, His Son Jesus Christ as our Savior to get entrance into eternity.  After receiving Salvation, our goal should be conforming into the example of Jesus Christ.  Our conforming and works will equate to rewards in eternity. 

The Prayer for Salvation is the most important action in our lives.  Jesus Christ does not require any of us to do anything to receive it.

Two Points dealing with the Tragedy of War

There are always two points that are brought up in the tragedy of War when dealing with those who were killed:

1. What about those who have not heard of Jesus Christ and are killed?
2. What about the young who have not had the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and they are killed?

The answers to these two questions are discussed in the "Classical Objection" topic, which involves God's Sovereignty and the Age of Accountability.

Additionally, there is the very familiar aphorism expression:

• "There are no atheist in military foxholes", and
• "There are no atheist in times of war"

which is not scriptural, but God does use all events in our lives for us to seek Him.  War has always brought out the search by those involved and the victims to have answers. 

We will never know how God is working out the logistic processes for those who look for Him and perish.  Through Faith and the whole Scriptures teach us that God has had a way since the beginning.  Partially to understand the future of a perfect eternity with God, we also need to understand the other side of the Lake of Fire.   We can be comforted knowing:

Suffering

Some thoughts and scriptures to consider which are an excerpt from the topic on Suffering:

If there is suffering including death, that is experienced by the Christian Believer, when it was not the result of sinful actions, the following apply:

• The actions by Satanic Forces against Believers will have the opposite effect intended and cause God to get more Glory!  There are so many examples in the Bible of Christians who knowingly accepted suffering and even death because they understood this aspect along with their love of God. 
  Romans 8:28 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
• The Christian Believer will be better off because of the suffering, including death, where rewards will be given by God to the Believer so that the Satanic actions has the opposite effect intended.  God will get the glory because of the rewards given to the Believer that offsets anything suffered in Christ's Name and we will be grateful for it in Eternity.  The following scripture definitely has its primary understanding dealing with Christians who give up family to follow Christ but it also implies rewards for following Christ when suffering is involved.  If the Christian is following Christ then undeserved suffering will be rewarded. 
  Matthew 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life."

Biblical Scholars have pointed out that the Scriptures, in their entirety, will show that amongst many, many wonderful promises, God is going to show at the completion of all events described in Revelation, that rebellion against Him, along with separating ourselves from Him, will always lead to death and misery.  In other words, God could have forced everything to be concluded after Adam and Eve fell or even when Lucifer Fell, but God through His Love is teaching us by letting us all have our way and how God deals with it will also show His infinite Power, Knowledge, Love, Mercy and Grace. 

WWII Atomic Bombs

Many people are against all forms of military actions to kill another human being, even when it is a time of war that may even be defensive.  One example often given by those against war is the use of the atomic bombs during WWII because the two bombs killed perhaps 200,000 Japanese civilians.

NOTE: This author does not have any satisfaction in writing about the horrible deaths that result in times of war, and find the subject very sad to have to write about knowing the suffering beyond words that have occurred throughout all wars in history.  My ability to even think about the subject causes me to grieve and look forward to seeing the way God handles the perpetrators of evil and rewarding the victims at the Judgment Seat of Christ and Great White Thrown of Judgment.  It is interesting, and in this author's opinion done intentionally, that no history book or website gives the full explanation, that I could find, why the Atomic Bomb was most likely used.  General Douglas MacArthur and top American Military commanders estimated in a full-scale invasion of Japan, there would be approximately: (i) 1 million American military personnel killed, AND (ii) multiple millions of Japanese military and civilian deaths caused in the act of protecting their country of Japan.  Note that there is mentions in some sources, the bombing of Tokyo in 1945 that killed over 90,000 Japanese which preceded the Atomic bombs.  As another observation of this author, the bombing of Tokyo is equivalent to the Atomic Bomb usage.  Therefore, the atomic bombs represented the most humane outcome to quicken a surrender by Japan.  This author absolutely believes that that was in the minds of everyone involved in approving the use of the two atomic bombs, albeit maybe not said publicly.  Historical sources are quick to point out the bombs killed approximately 90,000 and 40,000 immediately in Hiroshima and Nagasaki with tens of thousands of deaths from radiation exposure later.  This is far less significant than multiple millions of Japanese deaths, with the million Americans, during a full-scale invasion of Japan!
