The scriptures are replete with expositional consistency where terms used:

• Throughout the 66 books,
• Over 40 authors, and
• Written over thousands of years

always are used the same way and mean the same thing. 

Unfortunately, some translations of the Old and New Testament have used different words in place of the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.  This is why it is important to sometimes refer to Biblical Commentaries, Online Resources or Computer Programs to show you the original wording and interpretation, usage and comparisons.
