Diet Sodas will never help anyone lose weight according to numerous public
health studies for decades.  Sadly, Christians do not seem to pay attention
to the warnings.  One of the most common excuses heard is "God is fully in
control of my life and He will take care of me in all situations so I do not
have to worry about anything."  An explanation of why this is wrong should
not have to be discussed.
Sodas
Sodas contain a large quantity of Sugar.  See this web link "Sugar
Stacks".  There are many other chemical elements in Sodas that are
potentially harmful to your body.  Sugar in small quantities is not
necessarily harmful but the dangers of sugar are the following:
	- Has no nutrients and is bad for your teeth

	- High in Fructose which can overload your Liver

	- Overloading the Liver with Fructose can cause a Non-Alcoholic Fatty
	Liver Disease

	- Can cause Insulin resistance which is predecessor to diabetes and
	Metabolic Syndrome

	- Can cause cancer

	- Effects hormones in our Brain to promote fat

	- Causes a massive dopamine release in the Brain that makes it highly
	addictive

Diet Sodas
Diet sodas usually contain one of the following artificial sweeteners: (1)
acesulfame potassium (2) Aspartame or (3) Sucralose.  There are studies for
decades that do not give us definitive results from government public health
announcements but some quick Internet searching yields:
	- It confuses the body to thinking it is real sugar which "trigger"
insulin which then send your body into fat storage mode.

	- Drinking one diet soda a day is associated with a 36% increase risk of
diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome according to a University of Minnesota
study.  There are several conditions that are part of Metabolic
Syndrome and they are high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and large
waste circumference that put these people at risk for heart disease, stroke
	and as mentioned diabetes.

	- Like regular sugar it has no nutritional value.

	- The artificial sweeteners are linked to headaches.

	- Causes tooth decay / erosion.

	- Causes drinking alcohol to be absorbed more quickly the body.

	- Both regular and diet sodas when drinking more than four cans a day can
	cause depression.

	- Can cause Osteoporosis, especially in women, when drinking both regular
	and diet sodas.

	- According to a studies done by University of Miami and Columbia, it can
increase your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
