Further Information
All of us when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, should strive for the greatest purposes in the goals that God has set for all of us that is also described in the scriptures as being a Bond Slave that actually is freedom from our former life.
A Bond Slave in the Old Testament scriptures is a person who voluntarily dedicated their life to a family as read in Exodus 21:5-6. A Bond Slave was a person who loved the family or person they have voluntarily dedicated their life to provide their service in all areas possible for the betterment of the family or person that they voluntarily dedicated their life.
| Exodus 21:5-6 | 5 “But if the servant declares, ‘I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,’ 6 then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life. |
In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul described himself as a Bond Slave to Jesus Christ. This title and service also gives the freedom from the past life of sin against God!
| Romans 1:1-6 | 1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. |
| 1 Corinthians 7:20-24 | 20 Let each man abide in that calling wherein he was called. 21 Wast thou called being a bondservant? care not for it: nay, even if thou canst become free, use it rather. 22 For he that was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lord’s freedman: likewise he that was called being free, is Christ’s bondservant. 23 Ye were bought with a price; become not bondservants of men. 24 Brethren, let each man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God. |
